September to September — THE CAPTAIN BENJAMIN HEY!

I can’t believe I haven’t posted a blog here in over two years!

It’s time to take a journey Passengers!

September 2021, was the start of a new chapter. Terminated from my group fitness teaching job, I was left with a choice to go get another corporate job or double down on my entertainment pursuits.

I chose to turn up the heat by activating ALL of my creative channels…music, acting and modeling.

Now with my back against the wall, I self submitted to every entertainment opportunity that I could.

After my 75th casting submission, I finally booked an acting gig….A featured background role playing a Queer Eye prototype in the upcoming Universal Pictures film…”Bros,” which comes out September 30th! I’d like to think that my late acting manager, Jenevieve, was my angel making that gig happen.

Since September 2021, the plane has been on a wild ride with FUN career highlights including:

1. A song called, “Prince Girl” that I had written in 2015 was picked up overseas and made its way into over 30 international countries through TV, radio & film.

2. Then came a holiday modeling gig with Mac Cosmetics,

3. Then came a documentary about essential workers called “Symphony at 7p”

4. Then came a modeling gig for beauty influencer Patrick Starrr

5. Then came a book release (Corona Crazy),

6. Then came a commercial for Amazon’s Prime video,

7. Then came a commercial for FX,

8. Then came a live performance at Spotify New York HQ,

9. Then came the release of my first hip-hop record (Ra-ta-tat-tat) which became the first single of mine to hit over 100,000 streams on Spotify!

10. Worked with Chris Gehringer of Sterling Sound on latest single, “No Samples”

11. Lastly, “No Samples” is produced by platinum music producer, Young Cutta 💿

These 10 opportunities have happened between September 2021 & September 2022!

I am humbled and I am grateful that God & The Universe have been very good to me in this time span. I don’t plan on grounding the plane anytime soon.
